New York State Blue Ribbon Commission Ambassador Forums

You’re invited!

Capital Region BOCES will be hosting two stakeholder forums, on behalf of the New York State Education Department, to gather feedback on the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Graduation Measures. One forum is for P-12 teachers, administrators and school staff; the second is for members of the public.

These recommendations were offered by the Commission to the Board of Regents in November 2023, and since then the Department has been working on a vision for implementation.

More information about the Blue Ribbon Commission on Graduation Measures and their recommendations can be found on the NYSED website.

What to expect:

The meeting content provided by the New York State Education Department has been designed to best be presented in a virtual environment to maximize participation throughout the region and statewide. Therefore, all of the forums will be held via the videoconferencing tool WebEx.

The State Education Department is asking the BOCES meeting facilitators to gather the majority of the feedback using Qualtrics and a series of ThoughtExchanges. Attendees will also be able to utilize the WebEx chat feature to ask questions and offer feedback during the forum.

In order to participate, meeting attendees will need access to an internet connected device such as a smartphone, tablet, desktop computer or laptop. Please note that forum participants should not need to create user accounts for the platforms that will be used.

Anyone with questions about the forums should reach out to Adrienne Leon, the Capital Region BOCES director of engagement & development services, at adrienne.leon@neric.org or 518-464-3960.
