Sometimes you just have to smile, especially if you are pursuing a brighter future.
Capital Region BOCES Adult Practical Nursing students Ackem McCalla, Skyler Pudvah, Ceonnie McNair and Shahirah Redhead were all smiles recently in the halls of the Capital Region BOES Adult Health Careers Center.
“I like it here. I went here for the (Two Year Sequence of Health Careers) program and graduated in 2019,” said Pudvah.
Redhead added, “I have been working as a CNA for two years and I just really enjoy helping people. This program helps me do that.”
The students are among approximately 140 enrolled in the full-time Adult Practical Nursing (APN) program at the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical Education Center – Albany Campus continues into June when the program will graduate its students into the world of being a licensed practical nurse (LPN). The New York state-approved program encompasses 1,100 hours of classroom and clinical study and practice and prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Examination and apply to become a New York state LPN.
