The Capital Region BOCES Substitute Coordination Service is a centralized service that enables districts to obtain substitute teachers, teaching assistants, and nurses to fill staff absences. The service handles substitute recruitment, interview/reference checks, training, and daily placement of substitutes via an automated system. We currently secure substitutes for over 15 area school districts, including BOCES, on a per diem basis.
An ideal substitute is: self-motivated, outgoing, can follow directions, enjoys working with children, patient, adaptable, and eager to acquire new skills.
