Alexis Hicks-Moore is a 2014 graduate of Capital Region BOCES who is returning to share her professional skills with the next generation of students. A licensed cosmetologist, Hicks specializes in makeup, hair extensions and men’s hair and has multiple certifications related to the industry. She said CTE is an excellent opportunity for students because of the “hands-on the classroom structure and the autonomy the students have in their education.”
Tammy Lawrence is a licensed cosmetologist with decades of industry experience. She has professional certification to teach Cosmetology in New York and has been teaching for over a decade. She also has the role of supervisor at the local NY cosmetology and nail specialty state board practical exams.
Nicole Wentraub is a state-certified cosmetologist, having worked in the industry for 20 years. She has associates degree in teacher education and enjoys “sharing all the knowledge and skills gathered over my professional career and transitioning it to teaching aspiring hairstylists how to succeed.”
Rynee Groat is a state-certified cosmetologist, having worked in the industry for 28 years. She has worked in a salon and for Questar III and continues working part-time as a cosmetologist.
