On Friday, Jan. 24, the Albany Diocesan School Board presented Capital Region BOCES with its Community Partner Award. This award is given to organizations that demonstrate a commitment to working with the diocesan system of schools and contribute to education in the Capital Region.
“It is an honor to receive this award in recognition of the partnership forged between our two organizations in an effort to support all students in the region,” Laura McDaniel, Capital Region BOCES Director of Curriculum and Instructional Data said of the honor.
Capital Region BOCES has developed a partnership with the Diocese of Albany schools that’s built on collaboration. Diocesan administrators participate in BOCES assistant superintendents’ meetings and attend major events, such as the recent launch of NYSED’s Literacy Instructional Best Practices guide. Additionally, the BOCES Curriculum & Instruction team supports diocesan principals’ instructional leadership as well as providing diocesan teachers with professional development to meet various pedagogical needs.
Laura McDaniel and Karen Swain, Assistant District Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, accepted the award on behalf of Capital Region BOCES.
Thank you to the Albany Diocesan School Board, for being partners in education!
