This message from Capital Region BOCES Administration was sent to the families/guardians of students attending our educational programs on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022.
As you may be aware, New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the statewide mask mandate for schools will be lifted, effective Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Here’s what this means for the students who attend our programs, their families/guardians, our staff and visitors:
- Monday, Feb. 28 and Tuesday, March 1: students and staff must wear masks in all Capital Region BOCES Career & Technical School and Special Education programs and buildings and on school buses.
- Wednesday, March 2: students and staff will no longer be required to wear masks in our programs and buildings or on school buses.
Although masks will no longer be required in schools effective Wednesday, March 2, individuals may chose to continue to wear masks in our schools.
As always, we continue to work with our local county health officials as COVID-19 health and safety protocols evolve. If any additional changes to these protocols are made, they will be communicated to you.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and commitment to the health and safety of our students and staff. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school principal or teacher.
