Substitute teachers and teacher assistants* interested in working in our schools must fill out the application and payroll forms below.
*Note:
Teacher assistant substitutes are processed by us for the
Capital Region BOCES, Cohoes, Niskayuna,
North Colonie Jr. HS & HS, Schalmont,
South Colonie and Voorheesville school districts only. All other
districts' teacher assistant subs are
hired via their individual human resource offices.
The substitute application and the three payroll forms below must be
filled out and brought to interview. As substitutes are not approved
without an interview, no applications are accepted by mail. Please
use black or dark blue ink.

For nurses only,
additional Civil Service applications are also
required to meet county requirements. You do not have to take
a Civil Service Exam — simply complete and
return the county application with the above BOCES application.
The Albany County Civil Service
Application (PDF) is needed for
districts in Albany County, and the
Schenectady County Civil Service Application
(PDF) is needed for districts within Schenectady County.
