The NYS PBIS Technical Assistance Center services as a resource to regional behavioral specialists and school districts across the state. The mission of the Center is to further the dissemination of PBIS and other research-based behavioral intervention and support practices.
The New York State Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Technical Assistance Center (TAC), housed at Capital Region BOCES, is designed to facilitate high quality implementation of PBIS throughout New York State. The priority goals and objectives of the TAC are to:
Train
Regional Special Education-Technical Assistance Support Center
(RSE-TASC) Regional Behavioral Specialists and other NYS technical
assistance providers
Evaluate
the effectiveness of PBIS in identified schools
Provide
timely access to research-based information on PBIS for NYS through
a web-based resource library
Continue
development of research-based curriculum on PBIS.
The TAC will provide training of trainers for RSE-TASC behavioral specialists on the PBIS model, including an emphasis on data based decision making, steps to successful implementation, up-to-date research on best practices.
The TAC will provide easily accessed up-to-date research and best practices on PBIS through web-based materials and communication tools designed to encourage the sharing of information, strategies and support for PBIS throughout NYS.
