BOCES staff will use database software to manage and coordinate the following activities:

arrow bulletPrepare and mail consolidated billing statements/invoices

arrow bulletInterface with insurance carriers regarding enrollment terminations and changes

arrow bulletAct in a customer service capacity to resolve individual employees’ coverage issues

arrow bulletAct as a common remitter for payment of premiums between participant subsidiaries and the insurance carrier

arrow bulletProvide educational seminars for participants:

arrow bulletStudent status eligibility management

arrow bulletMedicare eligibility notification

arrow bulletRetiree and COBRA billing

 

Broker/Licensed BOCES staff will direct management of the benefits coalition and the benefit insurance programs covered under the programs. In addition, BOCES staff will:

arrow bulletUtilize consultative relationships and direct carrier involvement to help develop actuarial assumptions for establishment of rates for annual benefits.

arrow bulletLead and coordinate long-term cost-containing, quality education and strategies to sustain
benefits

arrow bulletHelp engage employees in Wellness Programs available to participants through carrier, regional or district wellness offerings.

arrow bulletResearch, explore and organize benefit initiatives to enhance effectiveness and adoption of participant benefit programs through District Health Insurance Committee meetings.
