Cos students raise more than $1,100 for Devon LaPrade

Bracelets are still for sale

Senior Cosmetology students at Career & Tech's Albany campus raised more than $1,100 through a special fund-raising clinic on June 9 for 14-year-old Devon LaPrade of Rotterdam, who's battling Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, an inoperable, cancerous brain tumor. For nearly 11 hours, they washed, cut, colored, foiled and styled hair and provided manicures, pedicures, paraffin dips and facials. They also sold delicious chocolate chip cookies. And they still aren't done: Custom bracelets honoring Devon are still for sale for just a $1 in their classroom in A building.
