Career and Technical Education for adult students
To compete in today's highly technical world, more and more adults are going back to school. A technical education provides unlimited opportunities within the job market. Adults can enroll in any of the courses offered by the Career & Technical School or combine them with the GED program to learn a trade while getting a high school diploma.
Grant-funded courses
From time to time, special grants enable the Adult Education program to offer courses such as the Schoharie Adult Nurse Assistant program, which was made possible in 2009-10 by grant funds from Appalachian Regional Commission. Building Bridges was another grant-funded program that taught adults construction-related skills, and other programs have taught forklift operation, and heating, ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration.
